Coaching 101: Athletic Consulting & Sport Management
Coaching today’s student-athletes requires more than strategy—it demands cultural awareness, emotional intelligence, and a deep understanding of identity and motivation. The Coaching 101 Course by New Found Lyrics equips coaches, athletic departments, and student-athletes with the tools to foster commitment, connection, and long-term development both on and off the court.
Led by Dr. Rob Delaleu, a two-time NJCAA New England Coach of the Year with over 200 wins, this program draws from 20+ years of experience at the collegiate and high school levels, including a #3 national ranking in 2019. Known to his players as Coach D, Dr. Delaleu’s strength lies not just in his accolades, but in his unmatched ability to build trust and lead athletes from diverse racial, socioeconomic, and identity backgrounds.
As a former player and now scholar-practitioner, his doctoral research on the lived experiences of Black male athletes adds depth and relevance to every session. From inner-city courts to private campuses, Coach D has walked the path—and now helps others navigate it with clarity, care, and results.
